Zöe Salmon is the glamorous Ulster-born former host of BBC1 children's TV hit show Blue Peter, first appearing as the 30th presenter of the show in the December 2004 Christmas special.

After joining the Blue Peter team her life became a whirlwind of filming assignments and trips, including challenges in America, Austria, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Sri Lanka and Switzerland.

Zöe’s filming highlights include skydiving, running the London Marathon, barefoot water-skiing, singing on stage at the Royal Albert Hall at the Last Night of the Proms, Latin-American dancing, choreographing a routine for Liberty X’s new single, training to be a primary school teacher, pot-holing, training to be an RNLI life saver and designing her own range of clothing.

She is no newcomer to the limelight, having made her first screen appearance in a cameo role as the Silver Slipper-wearer in little known film version of The Wizard of Oz at just 14-years-old.

She then went on to study law at Queen's University, Belfast, before qualifying as a solicitor and later proved she had beauty as well as brains when she scooped the title of Miss Northern Ireland in 1999.

Zöe presented the results of the Northern Ireland region in Making Your Mind Up, the UK's national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. She also appeared on BBC1’s Sport Relief 2006 and was a guest on BBC1’s Test the Nation, as well as singing for the nation on Comic Relief does Fame Academy.

Zöe starred as a footballer's girlfriend in the TV version of the book Hotel Babylon and appeared in the 2007 edition of Comic Relief does Fame Academy, alongside several other celebrity opponents.

In the world of radio she has co-presented the Blue Peter Proms 2005 and the Blue Peter Proms in 2006 from the Royal Albert Hall, London live for BBC Radio 3.

Zöe decided to leave Blue Peter in June 2008, to pursue other opportunities, which have included presenting her own Gameshow HotRods for CBBC primetime Saturday mornings, and presenting Bratz Fashion Academy for Nickelodeon.

Zöe is in great demand as a Presenter and also regularly will presents award  ceremonies and product launches etc.

Lives: Zöe was born in Bangor, Co Down and now lives in London.
