William Crawley is one of BBC Northern Ireland’s most versatile broadcasters. He most recently completed work on Blueprint, a major natural history television series for BBC One, broadcast in April 2008.
William’s previous television work includes the documentary Frozen North (BBC One NI), which explored the likely future impact of climate change on Northern Ireland; Sorry For Your Trouble (BBC One NI), a personal exploration of the nature of death and dying; the interview series William Crawley Meets; the round-table TV dinner and discussion series What’s Wrong With …; and More Than Meets The Eye, in which he travelled across Northern Ireland to find out why folklore lives on in the internet age.
Since 2005, he has presented Festival Nights, BBC NI’s TV coverage of the Belfast Festival at Queen's. He has also presented documentaries for BBC Radio 4, and on Radio Ulster presents Sunday Sequence, winner of the UK religion and ethics programme of the year award, as well as The Book Programme. William was born and raised in north Belfast, the youngest in a small Irish family of seven. He was educated in Belfast and Princeton, New Jersey.
