Tim McGarry is an ex-lawyer from Belfast turned writer, actor and stand-up. He is best known for playing the part of Da in 73 episodes of Give My Head Peace which he also co-wrote. He starred in many roles in the Hole in the Wall Gang’s Dry Your Eyes, including the inimitable Betty the Cleaner and Arthur Heckler, the man who can’t help slagging everybody and everything.
Tim writes and performs the weekly taxi driver piece at the end of BBC Northern Ireland’s politics programme Hearts and Minds. He is the chair of the popular comedy panel show The Blame Game on Radio Ulster and BBC NI. He also finds time to do stand-up and after dinner speaking. Tim’s favourite comedians are Larry David, Kevin McAleer and Jeffrey Donaldson.
He is much younger than he looks.
