Sean Crummey, a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast has been working for many years now on the corporate after-dinner circuit in Northern Ireland, having left behind his previous career as a French teacher. He has performed his stand-up routine in shows at the Grand Opera House and the Waterfront Hall in Belfast and has also worked in the Republic of Ireland and in Scotland and England.
He has written and performed nine series of BBC Northern Ireland’s highly successful animated political satire series The Folks on the Hill. He has also written and performed 12 series of The Folks on the Hill on radio, a more broadly based comedy impressions show. Sean also provided many of the voices in Radio Ulster’s A Short History of Ireland.
He has also written award-winning television advertisements and is involved annually in the writing of the Pantomime at the Grand Opera House in Belfast.
Sean was involved for many years in the local amateur drama scene and his natural gift for mimicry and facility with accents means he is also in constant demand for radio drama and voice-over work.
Lives
Sean was born and bred in Belfast and still lives there.
Hobbies/Interests
His favourite pastimes are golf, walking the dog and enjoying meals out with friends.
