Ralph McLean TV presenter, Radio DJ, respected arts commentator, producer, scriptwriter and newspaper columnist - Ralph McLean has done it all in his impressive career.

His life long passion for music and the arts has served him well as the popular presenter of entertainment TV shows such as The Blackstaff Sessions, First Stop, 11th Hour, Belfast Festival At Queen’s and many more. He has presented The World Pipe Band Championships for BBC NI for several years and worked on numerous shows and specials. In his time he has interviewed everyone from Dustin Hoffman, Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones to Mick Jagger, Dolly Parton and Angelina Jolie.

On radio he is the BBC's Mr Music and presents The Ralph McLean Show from Tuesdays to Thursdays, playing all kinds of great music from classic rock to soul and blues. He has presented his own roots show, the ever popular McLean’s Country, for many years now on BBC Radio Ulster; interviewing many of the biggest names in country music along the way.

In 2007 Ralph won the highly prestigious Specialist Music Broadcaster of The Year in the All Ireland PPI Awards. He has also produced and presented many popular shows like Classic Irish Albums and produced numerous acclaimed documentary series for BBC Radio 2.

He writes a weekly country music column for The Sunday Life and a cult movies page for The Irish News every Friday.

Lives
Ralph is happily married to Kerry and a proud father to Tara and Daniel.

Hobbies/Interests
As a huge football fan he dreams of the day that Liverpool FC will win the Premiership. Well a man can dream, can’t he?
