Kieran Goss was born and raised in Co Down, Northern Ireland and was just nine-years-old when he got his first guitar. Growing up in a big family with diverse musical tastes meant he heard varied influences that fermented into the brew that gives Kieran his own unique sound.
He supported himself while a law student in Belfast by playing gigs, earning himself support slots for Elvis Costello, Christy Moore and Joe Jackson along the way. After qualifying as a lawyer, Kieran left home for Europe to avoid being drafted into the legal profession! He returned to Ireland in 1989 and recorded his first album, Brand New Star, which contained the songs Brand New Star and Just Around the Corner, both of which Mary Black later recorded.
In 1994 he released New Day and in 1998 the album Worse Than Pride, containing Kieran's first Top 10 single, Out Of My Head - which achieved multi-platinum status. This was followed two years later by Red-Letter Day, which contained the classic Reasons To Leave. In winter 2002 Kieran released the compilation, Out Of My Head ... The Best Of Kieran Goss.
Kieran's sixth studio album, Blue Sky Sunrise, was released in September 2005 and the first single taken from it, Clear Day, was an instant hit that was picked up by the Progressive Building Society for use in their television advertising campaign.
Kieran Goss Trio Live, Kieran’s first live album, is his most recent offering; along with his new studio album, I'll Be Seeing You, which was recorded and mixed in Austin, Texas and is scheduled for release in summer 2008.
