Alan Simpson’s great sense of Northern Ireland’s people and their unique colloquialism is borne out in the popularity of his daily BBC Radio Ulster Alan Simpson Show – christened the tallest show on radio. His knowledgeable but light-hearted approach to life is clearly apparent in his relaxed and comfortable interview technique – allowing him to converse, or has he puts it “natter” effortlessly, with everyone from international celebrities such as Dolly Parton, Heston Blumenthal, Duncan Bannatyne, right down to a local Tyrone farmer.
Alan is a common sight commentating on various events around the north Antrim Coast, including the Milk Cup Football Tournament and for 13 years he has been the voice of the famous Portrush Raft Race.
He is currently the IFA’s Ambassador for Irish League Football and can be seen doing warm-up duties at Coleraine FC, the Irish Cup Final and CIS Cup Final, as well as the Tesco Boys Youth Tournament played annually in Dungannon.
Alan also comperes large and small events from fashion shows and golf days to celebrity gala dinners.
Lives
Alan was born on the north Antrim Coast and now splits his time between his beloved Portrush and Belfast.

Alan enjoys walking, food, fresh air, trivia, sport and is a passionate football fan.
